Singing

Hi Everyone,

Singing is an integral part of a Ukulele Orchestra and this Saturday 2pm at The Town hall Theatre we will concentrating some of this week’s class to vocals.

It’s important that we have a good turn out to hear what we have as a collective group. There will be solos, duos, trios and the whole group singing unison; as well as trying out some harmonies.

We are not expecting a heavenly choir but a decent representation of the songs we perform.

Don’t forget to look at the latest song ‘Falling Slowly’ and the tabs associated with it on our LESSONs page here and looking forward to hearing you.

Weekly Songs

Hi Everyone,

We have been trying to learn one song every week with Westelele and I know it seems difficult but just a little practice and patience and you will get there…especially that dreaded ‘G’ Chord!

I’ve put up on the LESSONS page the latest song ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ and the tabs for the intro and middle bit to mull over.

Looking forward to Saturday 26th of January 2pm at The Westport Town Hall Theatre and our next class – see you then!

Welcome Back

Hi welcome back to all the members of Westelele especially our new players for 2019. Our first meeting of the year was full of enthusiasm and encouragement as the group successfully learned a new song ‘Teenage Kicks’ by The Undertones.

Each week we will learn a new song building up a repertoire and gradually we will find the strengths of each of the players within the group. We are concentrating on chords and a few tabs at the moment but we will get the vocal chords moving soon.

Go to the LESSONS page to download the latest song and the C scale tab if you don’t have them. Next lesson is Saturday 19th of January 2pm – 3pm Westport Town Hall Theatre.

See you there!
