The Westport Ukelele Orchestra or Westelele was set up as a community based project to help provide an outlet for people of all ages to learn an instrument in a group setting . One of the easiest instruments to pick up, hold and play, the Ukelele has become an integral part of music education.
The project has been started by professional recording artist and event organiser David Dee Moore. David has been living in Westport for 20 years and has experience in teaching and once organised the Westport School of Music in the town, some of his students now play and perform regularly around the town and beyond.
